LowPolygonal Soldier Models?

Sometimes, when I'm playing Moscow WZ and my team is capturing B2 CP when there are more than 5 ppl in the hall my FPS drop from usual 70-75 to 35-40. I presume it's because soldier models are "heavy". On bugged Smolensk sometimes 2 players in front of me are able to drop my FPS to 20-25-30. 

So, the question is: is there a chance of introducing the low polygonal soldier model that wouldn't affect performance of players with PCs even weaker than mine. Like it was for example with Counter-Strike.

Something like special button in Video Settings  "High-Performance Optimized Soldier Model". 

Or:

1. efforts are not worth the effect?

2. with the upcoming optimization the FPS drop, when group of players is in front of u, would be somehow "fixed"?

It's one of many things that contribute to the performenace issues, it's on the list. This ismost likely either the animation system or shader complexity on the characters doing this.
