[Feature] Add to vehicle's HUD stripes that would show Chassis Armor.

Recommended Posts

Problem with RPGs is that when sitting in vehicle it's almost impossible to recognize where did the grenade hit ur vehicle and thus from where was it launched. With this vehicles(especially not upgraded) are relatively easy targets for a decent infantryman. To give a driver at least a little hint where did the hit came from why don't add the stripes to vehicles icon that would show what parts of ur chassis armor are intact and what are already destroyed. On the pic they are red only to emphasize them. Something like this.

Yes absolutely. It's pretty easily to tell when a portion of your RPG net is broken but on the chassis it can be more difficult. As for knowing where you were shot from, use an APS. It shows the direction of a shot even if it isn't blocked or misses.

It's actual for hard-kill APS. I'm driving with jammer APS still hoping there would come time I would see it acting.

The biggest problem with this is that every armor on every vehicle is different and it would have to be reflected in the texture. So you either create the texture programatically (which can be a hassle and will produce bugs for a long time) or make them by hand, that's number of vehicles * number of armors + all future additions.

This is not planned for now (we've talked about it a few times), but it might be in the future.

I will be more than satisfied if there would be 2 instances of stripes that would show the chassis armor: Intact and Damaged.

3 stripes: 2 on the sides and 1 on the rear.
