Just make this optional so everybody is happy. Problem solved.

And/or a server side var would be even better that can be set on servers when we can run those...

Also, if we remove the dot, it will be much harder to mark objectives. I think 1-pixel dot is fine.

If the dot is fine please scale it. The thing basically doesn't exist on my 4k monitor.

And while your add it can you make all of the Ui scale with res? Almost all the text and buttons are too small for 4k.

all this drama for one single pixel ... realy ? leave the dot, simple as that, if you want hard-core, disable hud and is simple as that, don't force the beliefs of 1/1000 players for "hard core"; meaning  of the hardcore game itself is not necesar "no hud", is also about the knowlage of the game and skill of the player ...

@TZoningHard u are so diluted person :D

Don't use words you heard on tv once without actually knowing what they mean. It's embarrassing and not an argument.

As for the dot and those who see it as a cheat, even if you do remove it from the game, people can put a dot on their monitor for all you know and there's nothing you can do about it.

Okay. So. the dot on the screen. Doesn't do shit to help you in gun fights imo lol, Weapon hipfire spread is so random that if you opt for hipfire spray, centering your screen will not save you from or give you any kind of advantage as it were. and besides really good players don't even need it if they know where the relative center of the screen is,

But that dot is useful as hell for interacting with stuff like your drones and items as it gives you a point of reference.

I say the middle ground for this is this. Keep it. make it bigger actually, and offer a ability to turn it off if people are triggered by it. (and i agree with above, if people want cross-hairs they will do it no matter what. theirs tons of ways to defeat that including a sharpie dot in the middle of the screen)

Just give the option to turn the dot off, then players have a free choice. Its so perfectly small I rarely notice it, but it sure does help when marking objectives.

I agree it would be a lot nicer, faster and more natural (execution of actions in a game should not be more tedious, slow or difficult then  they actually are in the real world) if pointing would just highlight a selectable objective -- easy to do in UE...

Let me see if I read this correctly.
You want to remove everything that makes this game unrealistic in a game that has RESPAWNS, where every player can order something as ridiculous as a B-2 Spirit to carpet bomb an area, where a tank is operated by one person, where you get imaginary points for sitting in an area ?
Hm, I think something might be wrong with your idea.

Instead of the dot, they should have the crosshairs they showed in their trailers, it was like a cross.  I like crosshairs because it helps to aim.  But if in the future they want more hardcore, they can just turn it off.

The crosshair in the trailer was bad and meant to show the recoil and they removed it since you really didn't need it.

I like the dot and think it should be made a bit better or some type of circle. i would prefer a slightly bigger dot that is a lil bit easier to see.

I second that

but most people that don’t want also seem to think with out it you get a disadvantage (which I disagree with)

I'd rather have the grey dot removed as it kind of doesn't fill in with the rest of the UI or what is going on in the 3D world. Also, I am one of those who utilize it as a crosshair and I've managed to pull of some good kills by hip fire. Although, when it becomes chaotic, I lose track of it and rely mainly on where the bullets go. About that spread... The AK-47 AK-15 is kind of bad when shooting from the hip however, G28 is just gold. It always hits where the grey dot aims at, unlike the Russian weapon, which I've seen some CS Deja Vu moments where the bullet literally hit the ground at a weird angle.

Due to that fact, the G28 can be used with a medium optics and for CQC to use the grey dot. < this will probably get patched though...

Anyhow, maybe there should be another mechanism for issuing / requesting, if it is too hard to center the screen to do so without the dot.

We now have the first iteration of quick radio chat [Default: Y] and it will only get improved, it will also help.

We'll be looking at things to do with the dot, we're not happy with how it works either and we think it could be much better.

RPGs should have a 150 meter kill radius against unarmored people, just like real life.

I don't particularly understand the argument against the dot. It isn't enough to be incredibly obvious, and definitely isn't on the same level as a full crosshair is. Plus, movement speed is high enough in this game that hipfire is incredibly common. I often don't even use my sights much at all up to around 10 meters, and then considering running head on with someone with the collision glitching being able to actually shoot at someone who is a foot away without looking down your sights shouldn't need a laser to know where my barrel is. The whole point of a crosshair or the dot in this case is to make up for the lack of depth perception and the resulting spacial orientation that allows us to make a good general estimate of where the barrel is pointing without having to line up our eyes with the barrel. Considering the current hipfire spread as well, it definitely doesn't really seem like an issue at this point.
